his year I chose to take US Women’s History for my history class. It has inspired me to take what I have learned in Ms. Fallon’s class and place it in my artwork. In Women’s history, we learned about how society created unrealistic expectations for women, and it has negatively impacted the way girls view themselves as they grow up. I brought the societal pressures that they have of women into my art. My first project, I used how magazines and media exploited women and their sexuality to sell. I created a collage to represent how women are exploited and broke a glass mirror to show how girls view themselves when they are surrounded with all these images. I continued to explore femininity in my artwork by expressing what it means to be a woman for myself.
