Emma Rose Baumer
Throughout this year I explored ideas of identity through mixed media. All three represented what was important to me and what I think about when exploring myself and identity. I decided to explore this topic because we talked about it a lot in the first quarter of school. In my African American history class, we learned about stereotypes and gender which inspired me to explore my identity through art. I used mixed media in my first piece which discussed the topic of clothing and gender. My next piece became more personal which was perception vs reality; this was an acrylic painting of my house with an underneath layer of colored pencil of what was inside my house. My last piece was the most personal to me, but also the simplest. It was an acrylic painting of my dog, Bear who plays a big role in my life and source of happiness.
