As an artist this year, I focused my time on creating multiple pieces in relation to one specific question or statement. My question was, How can I explore time through metaphors? I knew I wanted to represent the aspect of time using a clock somehow in each of my pieces. The median I worked with first was colored pencils where I used collage to make my picture, blew it up, and graphed it onto a piece of paper. This piece's main idea was to look through the window into different periods of fashion, and how time influences those changes. In my second piece, I used a literal clock, and crafted wire wings to connect to the clock. This piece was created to reflect the metaphor “time flies.” In my last and final piece, I wanted to create something that resonated with my childhood. I remember wearing a watch similar to the one in my piece, which is why I wanted to use that in order to relate to time. This piece represents instead of just time flying, but how childhood flies by really fast.
